130 people in Clifton Forge are out of a job this Christmas, after Telegate company closed down its directory-assistance center over the weekend. The Texas-based company says it closed the Clifton Forge call center because of the poor economy and a decline in call volume. Meanwhile, the company plans to hire at least 80 additional employees at its Winchester call center, boosting employment there to about 180 people.

Travel is off nearly twenty percent at the airport this holiday season.
Airport officials blame some of the decrease on the public's fear of flying since the September 11th attacks.
The loss of revenue has forced the airport to tighten its purse strings.
