A confrontation in Franklin County this evening ended with gunfire.
Sheriff's officials say two women were arguing in the Henry section of the county when the shooting occurred.
They say one woman was shot in the neck and airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Her identity and condition have not been released.
Deputies are still investigating the incident.

They estimate the damage tops 600-thousand dollars.

Two men are still at large after police say they shot and robbed a Lynchburg man at his home yesterday.
It happened in the 1700 block of Texas Avenue early Sunday morning.
Police say both were black males in their mid- 20's, wearing dark clothing.
One of the suspects was armed with a handgun, and fired several shots, hitting 43- year- old Mahdeen Shahiid (sha-HEED) in the leg
The pair then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Shahiid is in stable condition at Lynchburg General Hospital.
No arrests have been made.

The developer of an outdoor museum featuring giant heads of U-S presidents says he's confident the park will open by the end of the summer.
Everette Newman the Third says ground has not yet been broken in the Williamsburg area because the September 11th attacks delayed the project.

One day after completing their regular season, the Chargers have fired Mike Riley. The Chargers closed their year yesterday with a nine-game losing streak, leaving Riley with a 14-and-34 record over three seasons. They were 5-and-11 this year. The Chargers had a six-game losing streak in 1999 and an eleven-game skid in 2000. Riley had two years left on his contract.

Miami's six-game losing streak is over after Alonzo Mourning and Eddie Jones led the Heat to an 89-to-87 triumph at Indiana. Mourning had 19 points, including a hook shot with 48 seconds left. Jones had 29 points for the Heat.
