Parts of our area are expecting the first snow of the season.
The Danville region is bracing for possibly 3 to 6 inches tonight.
Danville's Public Works department is ready with a "state of the art" system to combat ice and snow.
All day, workers have been busy making a liquid salt brine solution to pour on the roads.
They'll use that, along with the traditional rock salt and sand, to fight slippery roads.
They city's 20 snow plows are also ready to go around the clock... with workers on call for 12-hour shifts. [(toss to R)]

(((TRACK) Cambridge, Massachusetts Its a case thats brought national attention to the issue of parental violence at kids sporting events. Thomas Junta is charged with manslaughter in the beating death of Michael Costin. And now a jury must decide whether the killing was an act of rage or self-defense.

(SOT - 6:25:39) Alice Richmond - Legal Analyst

You do have in the law an obligation to retreat in other words to get yourself out of trouble to move away from the fight.

(TRACK)

The fight between the two men broke out at this hockey rink in Reading, Massachusetts on July 5th 2000. Costin was coaching his 3 sons and Juntas son at a hockey practice when Junta allegedly got angry about excessive checking. Prosecutors say Junta, 6 foot one 275 pounds, pinned down Costin, 6 foot 150 pounds, and repeatedly punched his head against the floor until Costin lost consciousness. He died a few days later.
