Franklin County Delegate Allen Dudley says the state must offer more incentives to bring businesses into southside and southwest Virginia.
He's proposing legislation that would give tax breaks to companies that create at least 25 new jobs in an economically distressed area. Current law allows tax incentives for companies that create at least 50 jobs.
Dudley also wants to see motorsports license plates in Virginia. He plans to introduce a bill that would allow the Department of Motor Vehicles to sell license plates commemorating any driver, track or other aspect of motorsports.
