((TOO MUCH FAT IN THE DIET CAN BE A RISK FACTOR FOR HEART DISEASE IT DEFINITELY CONTRIBUTES TO EATING TOO MANY CALORIES WHICH CONTRIBUTES TO OBESITY WHICH IS A NATIONAL EPIDEMIC RIGHT NOW. AND IT CAN LEAD TO OTHER DISEASE CONDITIONS, ORTHOPEDIC PROBLEMS, DIABETES,CANCER RISK)) [RUNS19]
[OUT Q=diabetes cancer risk]

But just how much fat should you have? The Food and Drug Administration says for a 2000 calorie diet --you should not exceed 65 grams a day. Less than 20 grams of that should come from saturated fat.
(///// SOT /////)
[SOT18:21:10]
[IN Q=Saturated fats are solid]

((SATURATED FATS ARE SOLID AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND UNSATURATED FATS ARE LIQUID AT ROOM TEMPERATURE THE LIQUID FATS ARE HEALTHIER FOR YOU THE SATURATED FATS AND THEIR ONES THAT RAISE OUR CHOLESTEROL WHAT THEY CALL ARTERY CLOGGING TYPE FATS)) [RUNS14]
[OUT Q=clogging type fats]

To eliminate some fat from your diet:
Try canola or better yet olive oil for cooking.
Use margarine over butter --but remember the tubs of margarine are better than the sticks.
Pick unsaturated fats --that come in foods like, peanuts, seeds, and some fish.
Try no-fat items to add flavor to food like barbecue sauce, vinegar, soy sauce, or mustard.
Mayonnaise is actually a healthy type of fat --but if your watching your weight --choose the light brand.
Watch-out for hidden fats -- for example these cakes have 20 grams of fat and-9 grams of saturated. That is half the daily recomended amount of saturated fat.
And a high fiber diet can also help.
(///// SOT /////)
[SOT18:24;48]
[IN Q=Because fats purpose is to]

((BECAUSE FAT PURPOSE IS TO GIVE YOU FEELING OF FULLNESS. SO IF YOU EAT MORE FIBER FOODS WHILE YOU'RE REDUCING FAT IN YOUR DIET THEN YOU'RE NOT HUNGRY ALL THE TIME)) [RUNS09]

And Mankie says one of the most important things is to eat more fruits and vegetables --that way you get more food with less calories --and you will fell less deprived. Joy Sutton, News 7, Salem.))
