(( On the 5th day of Thomas Junta's manslaughter trial, his own son
took the stand. Because of his age the judge did not allow videotaping

Junta's son was playing hockey when he says the game got rough.
Voice of Junta's Son:
"They were hitting us with their slashing, cross checking, tripping..."
Junta's son says he witnessed both fights between his dad and Costin. In the first one he claims his dad was in a more defensive mode. The
second he admits his dad threw punches.
Voice of Junta's Son: "My dad hit him 3 quick times really quick."
Prosecutor Sheila Calkins: "Are you sure of that?"
Junta's Son: "Yes."
But before the prosecution rested, a key witness contradicted the young boy's testimony. Virginia Brings was also at the rink that day
..watching her granson skate.. She claims Mr. Costin was the one trying to protect himself in both altercations. During the second one, Brings says Junta lunged at Costin, pinning him to the ground.
Virginia Brings/Witness at ice rink:
"I kept screaming stop, please stop, think of your children, you're
going to kill him."
Prosecutor Sheila Calkins: "Did he stop?"
Virginia Brings: "No."
But Mrs. Brings says the fighting went on...and says it was the children she was most upset about.
Virginia Brings: "The children were crying, I can remember hearing
one little boy saying Daddy dont do it, dont do it..."
And as the prosecution pointed out...that little boy was Junta's own son.
Prosecutor Sheila Calkins to Junta's Son: "You yelled out to him
Dad, stop, didn't you? Yes."

they were never called to testify. Thomas Junta is still expected to
