(("My dad hit him three times really quick." It's an emotional case that involved the voices of young children as witneeses, tearful testimony, and medical experts describing the awful photos of death. But in the end it came down to two lawyers arguing two different sides of a story. Did hockey dad Thomas Junta kill hockey coach Michael Costin or was it self defense? Defense Attorney Thomas Orlandi "This 160 pound guy was set to take him out, fortunately Junta was ready" Defense attorney Thomas Orlandi claims Junta, whom he called a gentle giant, was simply protecating himself on July 5, 2000 when Junta and Costin got into two fights at this Reading, Massachusetts ice rink. Orlandi claims prosecution witnesses were too emotional to give a clear description of the tussel and that Ryan Carr, a hockey player used to seeing fights, gave a more accurate account. Thomas Orlandi/Defense Attorney "Mr. Junta appeared to be blocking mr costin's punch in a defensive posture.." But Prosecutor Sheila Calkins questioned Junta as a gentle giant. Prosecutor Sheila Calkins" "He took his head and slammed it into the mat. Gentle giant?" In a dramatic close where she demonstrated some of the fight's physical moves herself, Calkins admits prosecution witnesses were emotional, but called on the jury to remember these were witnesses helplessly watching a man die. Prosecutor Sheila Calkins "He was over Michael Costin and he was pounding Michael Costin on the left side of his head." Costin died day after fight, now jurors decide if Junta is innocent or guilty.))
