Classes are scheduled to resume this week at the Appalachian School of Law in Grundy ... where three people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting spree last week.
Yesterday, friends and relatives gathered in the auditorium of Grundy High School to honor one of the victims, the law school's dean, L-Anthony Sutin.

Lawmakers and officials within Governor Mark Warner's administration say the final phase out is on hold because of a lack of funds. If fully implemented, the phase out would cost Virginia about a billion dollars a year in lost revenue.

And a Danville man has made moves to honor the slain civil rights leader, by putting a plan of his own into action.

Torrey Dixon wants to rename the South Main, Central Boulevard, and Piney Forest Road corridor after Martin Luther King Jr.
Dixon has gathered more than a hundred signatures in favor of the proposal.
City council has now set up a commission to study the idea.
The seven member committee will make a recommendation and then council will vote on it.... with a decision expected sometime next month.

Reverend Tyler Millner recently sent a letter to the State Department of Education asking the department to remove Superintendent Sharon Dodson.

Millner is at odds with Dodson over the controversial reconfiguration plan in Henry County. Millner alleges Dodson has deceived the public, as well as been unresponsive to voters and parents.
