The decision came late this afternoon.
A federal judge ruled that school-sponsored prayers at VMI are unconstitutional.
This all stems from a lawsuit two cadets filed saying evening prayers before dinner violated their constitutional rights. [***NEWS 7 @ 11 MB GRAPHIC***]

He is one of two students who with the help of the ACLU challenged VMI's practice of assembling students for a prayer ceremony prior to each evening meal.
The students claimed the tradition violated their constitutional rights.
A federal judge agreed ruling grace at the state-funded school amounts to a "state sponsored religious exercise."
The state Attorney General immediately fired back.

The Attorney General plans to appeal the decision to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Students on their way to school ended up on a bus with a gunman.. who took them 150 miles away.
Tonight the FBI says the children were afraid they were going to die.. One of them scrawled 9-1-1 on a bus window hoping to get help.
Tonight the driver is charged with kidnapping and as Aleen Sirgany reports, the children are on their way home.

No one would 've known except the man called a radio talk show on his layover in Pittsburgh to brag about it.

37-year old Robert Hedrick reportedly told the radio station he had a knife concealed in his belt when he went through security in Greensboro.
A listener called police and Hedrick was arrested carrying a hunting knife- He's charged with carrying a concealed weapon on an aircraft. Bond is set at half a million dollars.

Six years ago Kevin Dresser took over the wrestling program at Christiansburg High School and now the program is respected through-out the state.

The Virginia Tech football team will open its 2002 regular season against Louisiana State University on Sunday September first.
