Subpoenas were served this week on various corporate donors, local United Way organizations and foundations that help fund the food bank. Board President Jim Pearman says he believes the Food Bank has had adequate oversight of its financial operations, including external audits and a full accounting for food and money. He says "we have no secrets from anybody." No comment from the Government.

This morning, a crew from Norfolk Southern pulled the big machine out of the Virginia Museum of Transportation, and moved it onto a nearby side track. There, an advertising agency crew began sizing it up for a photo shoot. The locomotive will soon be appearing in national magazine ads for the Mercedes "S" class automobile. The next season all he did was win a state championship, as his Bees beat Handley for the division 3 crown. It of course was unanimously approved.
