But the fighting between rival factions over control of the town has left over 60 people dead.
Both sides were fighting with heavy weapons over key government buildings.

An explosion in a Kuwaiti oil field has killed two contract workers and injured about 17 other people.

Last night's blast rocked Kuwaiti oil facilities located close to the border of Iraq.
A leak from an oil pipeline spread to a power substation, sparking the blaze.
Of the 17 people wounded, authorities say most of them suffered minor injuries.
Kuwaiti officials say they'll supply world markets with crude oil from other local sources.

Plans to build a 400-millon dollar natural gas plant in Danville have been canceled.

The Mirant (Mirr-ent) Corporation wanted to build the plant just east of the airport in the Airside Industrial Park.
A spokesman for the company says it changed its mind due to the global recession, fallen energy prices, and the Enron collapse.
It's possible the plant could still be built.
Mirant says it will continue with the permit process as it searches for another buyer for the project.
City officials believe the plant would create jobs and generate several million dollars in tax revenue each year.
