Governor Warner added the final two in the group that will take a top to bottom review of state government.
Two Southwest Virginians are on the Efficiency and Effectiveness Commission.
Tom Morris, the president of Emory and Henry College, and Tom Robertson, chairman of the Carilion Biomedical Institute, will work with former Governor Doug Wilder and ten others.
The commission will recommend ways to make state government more efficient by August first.

VF Imagewear has good news for dozens of workers -
While they plan to take 23-hundred jobs AWAY from Martinsville, they'll re-instate 40 others.

In November, the company announced it would close most of its plants by the end of this year.
Only the Rich Acres distribution center would remain open. It employs 135 people.
VF Imagewear officials say the call center will open IN the distribution center by the end of the year.
Henry County gave the company 172-thousand dollars to upgrade its telecommunications system.

State police have cleared the Blue Ridge Regional Jail of responsibility in the death of a Bedford man who died in custody last summer... but his family still isn't convinced.

38- year- old Ronald Lee Overstreet Junior died last July while incarcerated at the Bedford Adult Detention Center.

The state medical examiner says Overstreet suffered blunt force trauma to his head.. and officials believe he had been hitting his head against the bars of his cell.
Overstreet's family has its doubts.

A Richmond lawmaker who proposed legislation to fight racial profiling in Virginia, is looking for other ways to eliminate the problem.

The Senate Courts of Justice Committee was considering a measure introduced by Henry Marsh... that would have required police to record the reason for each traffic stop to determine if race was a factor.
Marsh decided to carry over the proposal to see if another proposal calling for better training would make a difference.

The Threat of Bioterrorism is a non-credit class and 100-percent online with lectures delivered by streaming audio and video. Dr. (Na-MAR-Ware) (Shree-Young-than) an associate professor at Tech's School of Veterinary Medicine leads the course.

Known as Dr. Nathan, he's part of a Tech research team working to develop an anthrax vaccine . The Threat of Bioterrorism is free for Virginia Tech alumni and 39-dollars for others. University officials say the class is in response to concerns from public about biological warfare after the September 11th attacks.

For the second time in recent months, a national magazine has declared Blacksburg one of the best places to live.

The March issue of Men's Journal ranks Blacksburg the eighth-best place in the country and the best place in the mid-Atlantic region.
The only other Virginia community to place in the top 50 was Charlottesville at number 44.
In August, Outside magazine called Blacksburg one of ten American Dream Towns.

A claim against WalMart for subjecting an African- American employee to a "racially hostile work environment," has been filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The Commission says Charles Aikens was subjected to "disparate disciplinary treatment." The E-E-O-C says Aikens was fired in retaliation for complaining about the work environment at the store in Radford.
It asks the court for an injunction against WalMart plus back pay and punitive damages for Aikens.
