Waylon Jennings died today at age 64. He fought a long battle with diabetes-related health problems.
His spokeswoman says Jennings died peacefully at home in Arizona.

Police in South Florida say the weapons look and act like ordinary lighters, but inside- is a hidden switchblade.

Police have contacted the Federal Aviation Administration- after confiscating about 700 of them from San Lee Trading.
Police also arrested a man for selling the devices after he sold them to an undercover detective.
Police say the weapons could be dangerous- especially if they were brought onto an airplane.

Drug Enforcement Agent Timothy Workman pleaded NOT guilty to the murder of Kevin Bailey in front of a courtroom full of Bailey's friends and relatives.
But he and his attorney offered no explanation for what happened.
The prosecutor says the off-duty agent shot Bailey three times in the chest during a scuffle in the parking lot.
Workman was apparently leaving the restaurant with a woman when the two men started arguing.

43-year old Frank Xavier Farinacci (fair-uh-NAH-chee) was found in a pool of blood in a garage near his home on Candlers Mountain Road this morning.
For now, sheriff's authorities are only calling his death "suspicious".
Technicians spent most of the afternoon gathering evidence at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

Another person in Bedford County is now being treated for (HOOP-ing) whooping cough. Health Officials say the person had a connection to one of three people diagnosed with the disease earlier.
The Health Department says the person has not been tested but does have some of the symptoms.
While Whooping Cough can be treated with antibiotics, it can be deadly.

Jason Conley who has been making a name for himself in the state ever since the University of Richmond's Spider Invitational back in late December, is now getting some national recognition. Conley is featured inside this week's edition of Sports Illustrated. The talented six-foot five inch freshman, who leads the nation in scoring, is in the college basketball spotlight on page 73. Anderson News Company, which distributes the publication in this region, says it will have the issue out in stores today. Conley, has now appeared in over 20 national and regional publications since the start of the season.

(( It has been said that Dale Earnhardt is everywhere, yet he is nowhere this week at Daytona. His legacy will continue to be many thing to many people, but for the competitors - it is safety. Last year three drivers were wearing head and neck restraints during Speedweeks, this year the devices are mandatory.

((JEFF BURTON:)) Burton has been at the head of the class working closely with Ford to develop a safer seat. But the seat that is getting the best reviews right now is this cocoon-like contraption. It's a carbon fiber seat that not only protects but displaces impacts throughout the body. ((RICKY CRAVEN:)) Craven's team owner Cal Wells is responsible for developing the seat. In fact - he brought it into NASCAR in 1999 with driver Scott Pruett - that year NASCAR told him the seat was illegal. They have since changed their tune. ((CAL WELLS:)) ((BRETT BODINE:)) No seat, data recorder or head restraint will get Earnhardt out of the driver's systems this weekend, but his son hopes people start to turn the page after Sunday.
