The restrictions may be mandatory, but for now they are "partial" .. after Carvins Cove drops to its lowest level in more than two years.
The City of Roanoke is asking residents to cut down on their water usage, and it has set restrictions on when people can use water outdoors.

With Carvins Cove standing at 22 feet below the spillway, the city's main water supply is getting close to historic lows. Even though we're not in as bad shape at the moment as we were more than two years ago, the city is taking steps now .. in hopes of preventing something much worse later this year.
