Marsha Johnson was Charlotte Brown's Special Olympics coach and a family friend.
She's been getting the girl's basketball jersey ready to drape on her casket.
She says Charlotte had just left volleyball practice Tuesday night, and was walking home when she ran into two of her cousins in front of Hallis Jamison's house.
The other girls had apparently been banging on his doors and windows.
Family members say Charlotte knocked on his door to return a set of his keys her cousins had taken.
That's when police say he fired his hunting rifle through the door, killing her.

Lawmakers approved a slate of three new judges for the Roanoke Valley.
Attorney Charlie Dorsey and General District Judge Bill Broadhurst were elected Circuit Judges. County Commonwealth's Attorney Skip Burkart will fill Broadhurst's position on the lower court.

A federal judge in Kentucky has denied a motion for a class action suit against Purdue Pharma.

The Big South tournament opened yesterday and already two of the local drawing cards have been eliminated. The Radford women were upset last night, and and this afternoon the Liberty men were sent packing.

Liberty's Mel Hankinson was hoping his team could salvage an otherwise disappointing season as the Flames took on top seed Winthrop.
But the Eagles would be the ones soaring early as Tyrone Walker gets loose on the fast break and flies in from the right side with the jam.
Liberty's senior leader Chris Caldwell will back on the near end and answer that with sweet little jumper. He finished with a team high 17.
The Flames again attack Winthrop. This time Vincent Okotie with the drive and the jump stop in the paint for the jumper.

But Winthrop is just too talented. The Eagles beat Liberty 66-to-59 as the Flames end the season 5 and 25.

The Virginia Tech Hokies announced today that they will have a 13th football game later this fall, afterall.
Tech will play Arkansas State on Sunday, August 25th in the Hispanic College Fund Football Classic.
The kickoff time has not been established at this point.
