Police are still investigating a Bedford County woman's claim that a man shot her in the chest.

Police were called to the Graves Mill Shopping Center around 2:30 yesterday afternoon.
44- year- old Linda Moorefield Ferrell says she was watching the ducks at a pond when a man came up and shot her.

Ferrell walked to a nearby restaurant to report the shooting. She's in serious condition at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Police say they have doubts about the woman's story and are continuing to investigate.
