Accused of embezzlement, Henry County's Administrator is free on bond tonight.
A Patrick County Judge said today Sid Clower is NOT a danger to himself -- even after his suicide threat last week.

Jean, at this morning's bond hearing, we learned new details about the embezzlement investigation.

The state says Clower set up a blind mailbox to which Public Service Authority checks have been sent since about 1993.
Clower supposedly deposited those checks into his own bank account.
(-----------------)
[VO-NAT]
[SUPER=03-Patrick Co.]

The state says Clower's alleged embezzlement scheme was not sophisticated -- though it ran undetected for almost a decade.
We're not sure who blew the whistle yet, but the prosecution says four witnesses are prepared to testify against Clower.
A trial date is set for July 30th.
Clower made bail this afternoon, he's now under house arrest.
He is NOT to set foot on Henry County property without a police escort.
If you remember, last week Clower threatened suicide with a handgun in the woods behind the administration b
uilding. Police had to tackle him --- that's why his arm is in a sling.

Both the prosecution and the defense say that incident was isolated.
