Montgomery County is taking legal steps to repossess a building that houses a struggling technology company.

Officials say it's apparent Haleos will not be able to survive financially at its Blacksburg Industrial Park location.
The company, which makes fiber optic components, has been unable to keep up with lease payments and has furloughed or laid off nearly its entire staff.
Today repossession papers were filed in General District Court.
The county's Industrial Development Authority owns the 108-thousand square foot building.
A spokesman say they've been generous to the company, but that time has run out.

Dudley would write a check to "VISA", and when the check was cashed and returned by the bank, he'd alter the word "VISA" to make it look like a legitimate expense.

Blacksburg Police are investigating the attempted abduction of an eight-year-old girl.
Police say the girl was approached by two men in a teal-colored car near her home.
When they asked her to get in the vehicle she ran.
The suspects are described as two white males - one with spiked orange hair.
Officials say the car had a trash bag covering one window.

Two accidents on Interstate-81 backed traffic up for hours in Montgomery County this morning.

The first just after 2 a-m involved a tractor trailer traveling north near Christiansburg.
State Police say the driver, Kenneth Jaycox crossed the median and landed in southbound lanes.
Traffic resumed in the area around nine.
His wife, a co-driver had minor injuries.
Then, around 6 a-m, a truck pulling a camper collided with a tractor trailer near Ironto.
The camper overturned and blocked northbound lanes.
No one was injured.
The drivers in both accidents face reckless driving charges.

Another accident on Interstate 81 this afternoon. Virginia State Police say the driver of this truck lost control and flipped the rig at around 2-o'clock this afternoon.
A small amount of fuel leaked from the truck but was quickly contained.
The driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries, mostly bumps and bruises.
A State Police official says charges against the driver are pending.

Officials at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center held a ribbon cutting today to show off upgrades to the emergency room.
The hospital doubled the number of E-R beds from 5 to 10...
It also doubled the number of psychological exam rooms from 2 to 4 -- AND upgraded equipment throughout the E-R.
The V-A Medical Center says the expansion and state-of-the-art equipment will help it provide veterans with some of the finest emergency care in the region.

MRI this morning at seven at Montgomery Regional Hospital revealed that Virginia Tech quarterback Grant Noel has a torn ACL in his left knee.

Noel, who will miss the spring game this Saturday, also underwent tests to measure the looseness of the knee. Results showed no significant looseness.
The next two weeks are crucial. If he does not require surgery, he should be back, with a brace by August. But if it is determined Noel needs surgery, the rehab time is six months.
Reserve quarterback Bryan Randall will play for both teams in the spring game.
Noel and coach Frank Beamer were unavailable for comment.
