Republican officials have declined comment while the case is under investigation.
Former GOP Executive Director Ed Matricardi was charged earlier this month.
He is due in a Richmond court later today, when his attorney will ask a judge to dismiss the case against him.

Blacksburg Police are looking for clues in what they say is the attempted abduction of an eight-year-old girl. Police say the girl was approached by two men in a teal-colored car near her home. When they asked her to get in the vehicle she ran. The suspects are described as two white males - one with spiked orange hair. Officials say the car had a trash bag covering one window. Investigators now suspect a fire that ruined a Bedford County business Wednesday night was intentionally set.

Crews from around central Virginia spent several hours battling the blaze at Innovative Machining on Graves Mill Road.
Arson investigators and an accelerant-sniffing dog were on the scene yesterday.. and authorities say the fire is suspicious.
Damages are estimated at three million dollars.

Officials in Montgomery County say that time has run out for a building that houses a struggling technology company.

Officials say it's apparent Haleos will not be able to survive financially at its Blacksburg Industrial Park location.
The company, which makes fiber optic components, has been unable to keep up with lease payments and has furloughed or laid off nearly its entire staff.
Repossession papers were filed yesterday in General District Court. The county's Industrial Development Authority owns the 108-thousand square foot building. A spokesman say they've been generous to the company, but that time has run out.

Students voted in the new mascot yesterday. Out of nearly two-thousand ballots, 55-percent of the vote went to Bruins and 45-percent chose Blacksburg - meaning no mascot at all. But many students say they still want to keep the Indians. Last year the school board decided to change it because it was offensive to some.

Officials at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center held a ribbon cutting yesterday to show off upgrades to the emergency room.
The hospital doubled the number of E-R beds from 5 to 10...
It also doubled the number of psychological exam rooms from 2 to 4 -- AND upgraded equipment throughout the E-R.
The V-A Medical Center says the expansion and state-of-the-art equipment will help it provide veterans with some of the finest emergency care in the region.

Roanoke Police are investigating the alleged rape of a 14 year old girl at a center for troubled teens.
On Wednesday, police arrested an employee of the Sanctuary Crisis Intervention Center, a program run by the City of Roanoke.
30 year old Jimmy Lee Jones faces rape and sodomy charges.
