About 150 students were evacuated from a school in Danville this morning.
Officials say fire broke out around nine in the auditorium of the Opportunity School.
The students were evacuated and later sent home.
The blaze was quickly under control, but the building was heavily damaged by smoke.
The Opportunity School will be closed to students tomorrow. Staff will still have to report.

Yousef Bahhur ran a shop in Buena Vista called "Crazy Joe's." He sold counterfeit merchandise there and at Happy's Flea Market... also through retailers in Salem, Basset and Chilhowie.
It was hard to miss the fact that the Tommy Hilfiger clothes were fake. Some of the stuff still bore the legitimate label of much less expensive brand names.
The prosecutor says Bahhur passed off these goods to customers as genuine Hilfiger products... claiming they were just flawed.

A quilt honoring the victims of September eleventh is drawing attention from around the globe.

Carol Mesimer (MEE-sim-uhr) started working on the pentagonal piece the day of the attacks.
The quilt, called "Remember Me", shows the New York City skyline complete with ghost images of the World Trade Center towers and the Statue of Liberty, and a Pennsylvania landscape.
The bottom half, which contains the names of those killed in the attacks, gives the quilt the shape of a pentagon.
Mesimer says she hopes the quilt helps comfort relatives of the victims.

Plans for a long-proposed A-E-P power line may get out of the woods today .. if they get approval from the U-S Forest Service.
Part of the state-approved route runs through federal lands, so the Forest Service is expected to release its own environmental impact statement today. What it says, and means for the proposed power line tonight on News 7 at 6.
