Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.
It's not just a sin..it is a crime.
That's according to Pope John Paul, on the issue of sexual abuse in the church.
Now the Roman Catholic church has to decide how to deal with it.
12 U-S cardinals are now meeting with the Holy Father at the Vatican.
Meanwhile, Chicago's archbishop says the possible resignation of Boston Cardinal Bernard Law did NOT come up at today's meeting.
Law has been criticized for his handling of abuse cases-- especially those of two known abusers who were transferred from one parish to another.
Chris Lawrence joins us now with an update on the meeting in Rome.

[SUPER=04-File Tape]

27-year-old Bilal Adullah Ben Benu entered a conditional plea of no contest to charges of illegally trying to purchase a firearm.
Benu's attorney says the plea means they agree to the facts of the government's case, but DON'T agree that he broke the law.
Benu received a 90-day jail term for a drug charge in Maryland, which constituted a misdemeanor conviction.

But because he COULD have received a year or more, the government claims it was a felony conviction, making it illegal for Benu to buy a gun.
Judge Norman Moon has taken the case under advisement.
