A 20 year old Franklin County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for the brutal stabbing deaths of his mother and cousin.

James Gibson pled guilty to capital murder this morning and was sentenced to life without parole.
He offered no explanation for what drove him to repeatedly stab his mother, Annette Gibson and cousin George Patterson inside his home last year.
Gibson's attorneys say he is in the early stages of schizophrenia, but not mentally ill enough to be considered insane.
Gibson told family members today he was sorry for everything that has happened.

An accident in Botetourt County has claimed the life of a Daleville man.
State Police say Keith Morris Letcher pulled into the path of a pickup truck on Route 11 in Troutville yesterday.
Morris was not wearing a seatbelt and died at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously hurt.

The Israelis are dismissing today's decision by a makeshift court in the West Bank that convicted four Palestinians for last year's killing of an Israeli cabinet minister.

The appointed judge in today's trial was a Palestinian security official with no legal experience -- and a policeman acted as the defense attorney.
