After 14 years in prison, the child- molesting preacher is back in Roanoke. Pentecostal minister Tony (LAY-va) Leyva got out of prison this morning and returned to Roanoke.

It's been 14 years since he was convicted of sodomizing young boys. He served the maximum sentenced under the old rules-- before parole was abolished. (Lay-va) Leyva had been tried in state and federal courts in the Roanoke Valley. He was released from Brunswick Prison, this morning, where state parole officers met the pastor and escorted him back to Roanoke. The case dates back to the mid- 1980's when Leyva was leading revivals in Virginia and running a child prostitution ring on the side. State probation and parole officials say he'll be under intensive supervision, wearing an electronic monitoring device. He plans to live at the Jefferson Lodge in downtown Roanoke, until he can find a job and a permanent home

Virginia's unemployment rate fell to four percent last month, the lowest level since last September.
The Virginia Employment Commission attributes the drop to fewer temporary and permanent factory layoffs- along with mild weather that allowed outdoor work to resume earlier than usual.
Fairfax City had the lowest unemployment.
Seven communities reported double-digit jobless rates including Halifax, Henry and Patrick counties and the city of Martinsville.

Danka, the female rotweiller is the proud foster mom of four fox cubs.
At First the dogs owner thought the babies were kittens.. but soon she realized they're fox cubs.

In the N-B-A Playoffs, the Charlotte Hornets have advanced into the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals by taking the Magic out of Orlando in game four of their first round playoff series.

But, the Hornets get nasty...Jamal Magliore lowers the boom on McGrady and picks up a flagrant foul in the process

The annual event is geared to send all of the proceeds to the "Children's Miracle Network." Items such as an autographed Larry Bird jersey, a Mike Skinner autographed quarterpanel from the Kodak Chevy to a Tiki Barber autographed Giants helmet to signed Michael Vick items to Pat Moss prints were on the block. The auction raised just over $20 thousand dollars for the Children's Miracle Network.

The two cassette tapes went for a combined 195- thousand- dollars at Christie's Auction house. Specialists thought that the never released recordings would bring in over 225-thousand dollars. Also- Paul McCartney's handwritten notes for the song "Hey Jude" were supposed to have been auctioned off as well... but were taken off the lot late. McCartney said that the notes were stolen from his home. They were expected to go for 120-thousand dollars. (------------)
