Two separate plane crashes have killed at least 78 people.
A Chinese airlines crashes off the coast of Northeast China- So far recue ships have recovered 60 bodies.
More than 30 additional ships are headed to the site. The plane was carrying 112 people. There is no immediate word on any survivors.

Meanwhile Egyptian officials say at least 18 people are dead in today's EgyptAir plane crash in Tunisia.
The Boeing 737 with 63 people on board went down while trying to land near Tunis.
Tunisia's national news agency says the control tower lost contact with the plane right before the crash -- just after a distress call from the pilot.
Two dozen people were reportedly injured. The plane went down in foggy, rainy weather.

Voter turnout is lagging behind in Lynchburg. Only about ten percent of registered voters have turned out so far. In the last city elections about 35 percent of the voters headed to the polls.
In Christiansburg, turnout is a little better. 16 percent of the voters there have already cast a ballot.
Also in Blacksburg, 18 hundred of the 10 thousand registered voters have voted.
We'll have the returns tonight in all the contested races, and we'll carry complete returns on News 7 at 11.

It made tough going this morning for a school bus on its way to school.
The bus got stuck in high water- Floodwater pushed it off the course as it drove near Waverly, Indiana.
Water started rushing into the bus and the 14 children on board had to be rescued.
Emergeny crews got all of the children off the bus and onto boats safely.
Over a half dozen counties around Indianapolis are under Flood warnings today.

You may think you pay a lot in personal property taxes... but Roanoke says may not be enough to satisfy the budget.
In fact, estimates show the city will lose one point four million dollars in personal property tax revenue this year.

Much of that loss stems from two major businesses closing -- Vishay Vitramon and Transkrit.
They paid property taxes equivalent to 150 homes in Raleigh Court.
Haley Toyota says it sold a record number of cars last year... and the city isn't sure that will continue this year.
Though the budget shortfall is likely, the city says it won't know for sure until the end of the month, when all personal property taxes are collected.

Goran Ivanisovic has a bad shoulder, so bad that he has opted to undergo surgery to repair it immediately. It's his left serving shoulder and the same one that has given him problems for years due to cartilage and tissue damage. Ivanisevic will be the first Wimbledon men's champion not to return to defend his title since Stan Smith in 1973. Smith stayed away that year because of a boycott and not injury. Ivanisovic called this the worst decision of his life.
