The Virginia Army National Guard has helped with airport security since October-- a result of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
President Bush requested National Guard members be posted in commercial service airports to provide increased security for the traveling public.

Troops will leave the Lynchburg Airport on Friday and the Roanoke airport Monday.

Eastern District U-S Attorney Paul McNulty will join Richmond Commonwealth's Attorney David Hicks in directing the inquiry.
Hicks had asked federal authorities to become involved because of a state law that limits how much Virginia State Police can do to investigate legislators.
Former state Republican Party executive director Ed Matricardi was indicted last month on four felony wiretapping charges.

WE start on the diamond with a rare jewel of a coach. Liberty high school's Jim Cutler is in his 38th season as head baseball coach, heck, he's the only baseball coach the school has ever had.
