The former Klansman is charged with murder for allegedly planting dynamite
outside the Sixteenth Street Baptist church.
It was a Sunday morning in September 1963 when the blast killed four little
girls.
Prosecutor Robert Posey described Cherry as a racist and a braggart...."Over the years, he wore this crime on his chest like a badge of honor, like a Klan medal"
ROBERT POSEY/PROSECUTOR: WE WERE JUST TRYING TO OUTLINE WHAT WE EXPECT THE EVIDENCE WILL BE AND STATEMENTS MADE BY THE DEFENDANT TO OTHER PEOPLE.
Cherry's attorney--Mickey Johnson said his client never boasted and never did it.

Johnson added during the civil rights era there were thousands of others, like Cherry, against integration--and the net of suspicion should have also been cast upon them.

The jury is made up of nine white women, three white men and four black men.
