Tonight in Roanoke, the National E-M-S Memorial Service will pay tribute to 26 men and women, including 10 who died in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

Doctor Cecil Knox is facing charges of dispensing drugs that may have killed or seriously injured 10- of his patients.
Yesterday, a federal grand jury in Roanoke indicted Knox on four racketeering charges. Officials say the new counts emerged from evidence showing a combination of mail fraud, wire fraud and drug dealing to further a criminal enterprise.

The FERC will issue a final environmental statement using the comments gathered. The agency will then decide whether Duke Energy will be granted permission to build the pipeline which would stretch from Wytheville into North Carolina. Officials say a decison could come this fall.

Rescue squads from New York, Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia were honored at halftime for their courage in the wake of last September's terrorist attacks. Pick it up in the second quarter with Cape Fear up 20-to-nothing. Roanoke's Quentin Ware-Bey takes the handoff and plows into the end zone on a four-yard touchdown cutting the Cape Fear lead to 20-to-6. The Steam had another chance to score on their next possesion, but Quarterback Mike Volarvich has this pass intercepted at the goal line by Cape Fear's Kenton Rickerson ending the threat.

UVa head coach Dom Starcia would see his team take an early lead and then hang on for a tie at halftime. Syracuse's Michael Springer gets the unbelievable behind the head shot as he streaks past the net on the right side. One more time in slo-motion. UVa would take over in the fourth quarter and appear to have the game won as Brendan Mohler goes coast to coast for the score to make it 11-to-10. But with 25 seconds to go, Syracuse somehow tied it up and sent the game to sudden death overtime on this gutsy play by Tom Hardy. The the senior was just getting warmed up. He was not alone as a total of 9 caution periods highlighted the 200 lap event. The final caution came out with under 10 laps to go when Dan Pardus and Casey Mears tangled coming into turn three. Greg Biffle pitted and took a shot and rallying from end of the lead lap for a win. The strategy almost worked as he used every bit of the four green flag laps that remained to finish second right behind Jeff Green. Green is now the third man in history to win this race in back to back years - the others are Mark Martin and the late Tim Richmond.
