Preliminary reports show the drug that killed her was cocaine and now police say they have a murder case against the man who they say provided the narcotics.

This is not the first time Pulaski Police say they have dealt with Carter.
Earlier this year during an undercover drug sweep, he was arrested on drug violations and was now only out on bond.
Carter was arraigned this morning and is currently being held in the New River Valley jail.
At Pulaski County High School today counselors were on hand today to help students deal with the news.

A Pennsylvania man was convicted in 1999 of setting fire to a cross at a Carroll County Ku Klux Klan rally. But the Virginia Supreme Court overturned the conviction, declaring the state's ban on cross burning was unconstitutional.
The STATE Supreme Court was narrowly divided: four to three.

Crews were called to the 1600 block of Grace Street just before one o'clock, after neighbors spotted smoke and flames coming from the attic.
It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control. The building is considered a total loss.
Housing officials say the home was on land they'd hoped to acquire through the city's spot blight abatement program.
That allows the city to seize properties whose owners have let them fall into disrepair.

Keith Childress will serve a year and two months, though he could have gotten more than seven years in prison under the guidelines.
He helped authorities in their investigation of drug trafficking at George's Place, so the government asked the court to depart from the guidelines in recognition of his assistance.
James Stokes was sentenced today to two years in prison.
George Spence faces at least 15 years in prison when he's sentenced in July.
