The 43-year-old Sluder is charged with killing his estranged wife Loria in their Smith Mountain Lake home 7 years ago.
Authorities originally ruled the death a suicide, but later charged Roy Sluder with murder after re-testing evidence from the scene. Sluder will have to explain contradictions in his story about what happened that night .. including why rescue squad workers never saw a gun near the body ... and the position that Loria Sluder was in when she allegedly shot herself. The commonwealth rested its case this morning. Roy Sluder is the first defense witness to testify. We'll have more on his testimony tonight on News 7.
