A jury has convicted Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel of beating Martha Moxley to death in 1975 when they were both 15.
It brings an end to a Connecticut murder case that went unsolved for nearly three decades.
The verdict came about an hour ago, after three days of deliberations.
Skakel now faces life in prison.
Prosecutors had no direct evidence.
They based their case largely on people who said they heard Skakel confess.
Defense lawyers argued that Skakel was visiting a cousin in another part of Greenwich when the slaying took place.
Jamie Colby has the latest now from Norwalk, Connecticut.

The Washington Post revealed today that Wilkins paid at least a hundred thousand dollars last year to a 26-year-old woman in Amherst County.
Jennifer Thompson says the 65-year old Republican lawmaker made unwelcome advances, which included groping and pinning her against office furniture.
Thompson is a former employee of Wilkins Construction Company in Amherst where it is alleged the harassment took place.
Wilkins' lawyer says the Speaker denies the allegations and beyond that is not commenting.
Republican Attorney General Jerry Kilgore today called the allegations "very serious" and "extremely troubling."

Evidence at the trial this week suggested Robert Davis was killed to prevent his testimony in the federal narcotics trial of former Pocahontas mayor Charles Gilmore.
A jury will decide on Monday whether Ealy will face life in prison or the death penalty.

While the tennis got the Jubilee off to a rousing start - there is the potential for all kinds of problems today - especially for spectators. Late yesterday, many of the start times for today's soccer, baseball and softball action underwent radical changes.
The Blacksburg boy's soccer team was supposed to play at two this afternoon - the Indians will now play at six tonight.
The James River softball team's game time has been moved to 1 o'clock this afternoon- instead of 8 o'clock tonight.
The reason for the changes is that many of the start times conflicted with graduation ceremonies. But the changes are widespread. Literally, everything has changed except Group Two- A baseball.
