Good Afternoon, I'm Kimberly McBroom.
Today Attorney General John Ashcroft announced the arrest of the alleged al-Qaida supporter who plotted to build and set off the device.
Ashcroft says Abdullah Al Muja-hir in the custody of the U-S military and is being treated as an enemy combatant.
That suggests there are plans for the first military tribunal of an alleged terrorist.
The suspect -- a U-S citizen -- is also known as Jose Padilla.
Ashcroft says he was arrested a month ago at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
He'd arrived there from Pakistan.
Teri Okita is in Washington this afternoon, and joins us now with the latest developments.

Several Virginia conservatives are suing to block referendums in northern Virginia and Hampton Roads that would raise sales tax rates in those regions to build roads.
The lawsuit alleges the regional sales tax referendums unconstitutionally gives legislative power to voters.
Former state Republican Chairman Patrick McSweeney filed the lawsuit in Richmond Circuit Court on behalf of conservative activists in both regions.
The suit claims the Virginia Constitution authorizes tax-supported debt, only if approved by a majority of voters in a statewide referendum.
