Kentucky Derby Hosiery already employs 242 people in Carroll County.
The company will add 72 wokers by the time the multi-million dollar project is complete.

Right now, the steering systems manufacturer employs 86 people in Botetourt.
The company broke ground on its facility in 1999 -- but postponed its grand opening which was set for the week of September 11th.

Since then, the company expanded with plants in Asia, South America and Europe.

Today authorities arrested Regina Harris in the death of her six-day old son Toby Harris. Officials say the boy died early last month from a drug overdose. Blood tests revealed methadone and another opiate in his system. Regina Harris also faces three drug possession charges,

A federal jury in Abingdon today decided NOT to impose a death sentence for Stephen Samuel Ealy.

A Craig County man was sentenced today to serve 12 years in prison for bank robbery. Richard Donald Hawes actually held up three financial institutions in less than two weeks last Fall.

The Virginia Tech Credit Union was the last one. He got only 500 dollars there... but made off with a total of 17-thousand dollars in the course of the three hold ups.
