An accident in Franklin County sent three men to the hospital.

State troopers say this Jeep Cherokee was headed west on Route 8-34 when it ran off the left side of the road, hit a utility pole and flipped.
The accident happened around ten o-clock last night.
Three men in the Jeep were taken by ambulance to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
There's no word on their conditions or idenities at this time.

Henry County residents voiced their opposition to a proposed natural gas pipeline running from West Virginia to North Carolina...

Dominion wants to build the pipeline from West Virginia-- through seven Virginia counties before entering North Carolina. A federal jury in Abingdon has decided NOT to impose a death sentence for Stephen Samuel Ealy.

He was convicted by the same jury last week of killing seven people in Tazewell County... in a case dating back to 1989.
Ealy had been acquitted in STATE Court, but will now serve LIFE in prison.

After only being open a day and a half - officials say they've already placed five people in new jobs. Governor Warner says these economic relief centers are placed in communities that over a six-month period have doubled their unemployment numbers.

A Botetourt company is gearing up to hire hundreds of people. Koyo (COY-yo) Steering says they will increase the work force by more than 400- people over the next four years.

Sales are climbing and so is the number of workers.
Koyo makes bearings and steering systems for auto makers like Saturn.
The Botetourt facility is one of 12- plants around the world.

A high-tech sock knitting operation in Hillsville is also expanding and bringing more jobs.
Kentucky Derby Hosiery already employs 242- people in Carroll County.
The company will add 72- workers by the time the multi-million dollar project is complete.
Hillsville beat out sites in North Carolina and Kentucky.

A Navy pilot made an unscheduled stop in Roanoke yesterday...

A mid-air collision with a large bird caused minor damage to this E-A-6 "Intruder," so the pilot decided to land at Roanoke Regional Airport.
The plane's based in Washington.
The Pilot told News-7 he was never in any danger -- but landed here as a precaution.
After some repairs the jet's expected to fly back home later today.

A Republican lawmaker from Halifax says he knows more women who plan to come forward with claims that House speaker Vance Wilkins sexually harassed them.
In published reports, first- year delegate Clarke Hogan says the women's stories are credible, and adds that he can't continue to support Wilkins as speaker.
