Roanoke County's Optical Cable Corporation is having more problems.

With sales down 37 percent, the fiber optic company laid off 28 employees this week.
Also the company is in danger of being kicked-off the NASDAQ.
That's bad news for shareholders, whose stock would be worthless if Optical Cable is de-listed.
The stock price would have to rise and stay above a dollar for ten consecutive business days to avoid de-listing.

The deadline is mid-August.

In Chesterfield County this morning, the Amherst Republican said he still has not decided if he will keep his seat in the House.
Wilkins announced yesterday that he is resigning as speaker after he admitted to paying at least 100-thousand dollars to a woman who accused him of sexually harassing her.
Wilkins has denied the allegations, but has admitted to paying the settlement.
His resignation is not official until he notifies House Clerk Bruce Jamison.
Asked if he plans to do that today, Wilkins said ... quote ... ``I'll drop Bruce a note.''

You may have seen her working out on the Lifetime network, or maybe read one of her best- selling fitness books.
But Denise Austin understands that sometimes it's hard for working women, especially, to find the time to exercise.
She's joining us via satellite this afternoon to offer some advice.
How are you doing, Denise?

[SUPER=01-Denise Austin/TV Fitness Expert;]

Once we establish Denise, we have :40 of B-Roll of People Exercising.
(questions:)

(As a fitness guru, you are obviously motivated to stay in shape-- But why do you think it's so hard for most women to

make that commitment to exercise?)

(Do you necessarily have to join a gym or exercise several hours a week in order get fit?)

(We hear a lot about exercises that you can do at your desk at work, or at home while watching T-V-- What are a couple

of those?)

(I've noticed sometimes when I work out, I'm not sure whether or not I'm over- doing it. Is it normal to have muscle

aches?)
