The fire's burning in "hells gate canyon," but late this afternoon two helicopters began dumping water on a some fast-moving flames running along a ridge to the north.

In addition to the water drops, crews on the ground are getting some high-tech help from above.

They're called ignition spheres -- and they look just like ping-pong balls. But these balls contain chemicals that ignite as they're dropped -- taking away fuel from the original fire.

This helicopter dropped more than 3-thousand this morning, and it's getting ready to drop another 8-thousand tomorrow. It's a technique aimed at keeping crews on the ground safe.

Reginald Goodwyn, a former employee, is suing the state agency for wrongful termination.
Goodwyn, an African-American, was fired after being accused of sexually harassing the manager of a store he serviced.
Goodwyn said he was treated differently than other employees facing similar charges.
The Virginia office of the NAACP is supporting the lawsuit and calling for other Virginia Lottery employees to come forward if they believe they've been discriminating against.
The Virginia Lottery says the allegations of racial discrimination are "unfair."

Landon Donovan scored the other goal for the U.S. Donavan finds the back of the net at the 65th minute, and it was a header. Goalkeeper Brad Friedel (FREE'-duhl) made six saves in the win. The U-S plays Germany in the quarterfinals on Friday.
