Michael Hamdan, who was born in Lebanon and speaks Arabic, says he overheard Arabic- speaking men say, "We are in the city of corruption, the city of prostitution, the city of gambling." Then he says he heard the men speak of "the day of freedom", which made Hamdan think they were plotting an attack on Las Vegan on the Fourth of July. F-B-I agents spent more than four hours questioning Hamdan and say his story is NOT credible. Hamdan is sticking to his story. Earlier this week the F-B-I DID express concerns about a possible attack on the Fourth. Terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay have revealed there is an interest in an attack on that day.

Also, a new general terror warning was released today. The government says terrorists may be planning to use fuel tankers as attack vehicles. Officials say that precise targets are not known, but terrorists could aim at U-S fuel depots or Jewish schools and synagogues.

The United States exited the tournament but still posted its best world cup performance in 72 years. Germany would score the only goal of the game in the 39th minute as Michael Ballack takes his six foot three inch frame up top for the header. The United States took the atteck to Germany the rest of the way and appeared to tie the game on Eddie Lewis's shot that bounces off goalie Oliver Kahn. The ball appears to cross the plane and also hit the arm of Germany's Torsten Frings.

But the referee said no goal, no hand ball and Germany beats the US 1-to-nothing.

Brazil, the four time Cup champ, has advanced to the semi-finals with a 2-to-1 win over England. Today, it was RONALDINHO who made his mark with the eventual game winning goal on this 35 yard floater over the head of a poorly placed English keeper.

The only team the Steam beat on the road trip was Carolina two weeks ago--the same team that visits the Civic Center tonight. The Steam sits in third place with four games to play. Only the top two teams in each division make the playoffs.
