A Halifax County man is charged with murdering three neighbors .. apparently over a property dispute.

The suspect .. and the victims .. had been neighbors for more than a decade.
But authorities say over those years, James Bryant Hudson had grown unhappy over the a piece of property the two families shared.
Officials believe that unhappiness may have led to yesterday evening's murders.

Authorities believe the murders stemmed from years of controversy over this private access road off of Virgie Cole road --shared by the suspect James Bryant Hudson and the Cole family.
Officials say Hudson was unhappy about how the road was maintained.

Earlier today, hundreds of motorists took the liberty of parading down Williamson Road in Roanoke.

It was all part of the fourth of July parade which began near the Civic Mall and ended in front of Breckenridge Elementary School. This year's Star City Motor Madness featured hundreds of old and new cars decked out in red, white, and blue. So far, a local group has raised about a third of the 1 and a half million dollar price tag.

Relatives of two Georgia teenagers are asking for more than 4 million dollars in damages.
They were riding in the back of a pickup truck, when the tread came off one of its tires.
The truck veered into oncoming traffic at the Hollins exit on Interstate 81.
The accident happened a week before it became illegal for children under 15 to ride in pickup beds.

A teenager standing outside a house in northwest Roanoke was shot and wounded last night.
Police say 15-year-old Jonathan King was hit in the forehead by a gunshot from a passing car.
King was at his grandmother's house on Ferncliff Avenue Northwest.
Another teenager was outside with him.
Relatives said they have no idea who would want to take a shot at either boy.

The attorney general also says his office is the victim of a telephone scam.
A caller claims to be working for the state and tells victims that they may be involved in a credit card fraud.
They're asked to give a checking account number to cover the loss, and says the attorney general's office will reimburse them.
Kilgore says the state has no such program, and consumers should never give out personal financial information, unless they know who they're dealing with.

A big project lies ahead for members of the First Baptist Church of Hillsville. A lightning strike Wednesday damaged a lot of their church. Rebuilding will take plenty of faith, and hard work.
