A Blairs man died in an accident last night.
Police say William Nathaniel Harris was driving his Chevy pickup on state route 7-07 in Pittsylvania County, when he lost control of his vehicle and ran off of the left side of the road.
He then apparently overcorrected, sending the truck over the right side, where he hit a tree and was thrown from his vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the pending federal racketeering case against him, Doctor Cecil Knox has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
His attorney says his prognosis is reasonably good, especially if a suitable bone marrow transplant donor can be found.
Tony Anderson points out he's an attorney not an oncologist, but he believes Doctor Knox can beat the cancer and then successfully fight the federal government.
Knox has been on chemotherapy treatments for three or four weeks.
His trial is set for next January.

The new plan, announced yesterday, would allow boating and fishing on the river where it passes through the arsenal property.
But the only access would be through checkpoints.
Arsenal officials had been trying to close off the river for security reasons.
Outdoor enthusiasts criticized the plan, and were backed this week by U.S. Senator George Allen.

Nearly three-thousand people may not be able to renew their driver's licenses next month because of computer system errors at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The problem comes from people entered with the same Social Security numbers, or with discrepancies in their names and birth dates compared to the federal Social Security Administration's computers.
The D-M-V does not have the staff to track down every discrepancy in its computers, so it leaves it to drivers to fix the errors.
Over the last two years, the D-M-V has found 200-thousand entries with problems in its computer system.

A Maryland truck driver won a 700-thousand dollar damage award from a federal jury in Roanoke Wednesday.
Management at the Flying J truck stop near Wytheville had Michael (Sta-MATH-is) Stamathis arrested in December for driving off without paying for fuel.
HE said he was just moving his rig before going inside to pay. The charges were dropped in state court.
(Sta-MATH-is) Stamathis sued for defamation of character and malicious prosecution.
The federal jury sided with Stamathis on both counts, found he had NOT stolen fuel.
They held Flying J and truck stop Manager David Hansen liable for a total of 700-thousand dollars in damages.
