The day after actor Jason Priestley crashed his racecar at the Kentucky speedway doctors say he continues to improve.
Priestley was going about 180 miles an hour when he slammed his car head-on into a wall during a practice round.
He suffered injuries to both his face and feet and he broke his back.

"HE HAS NO EVIDENCE OF PARALYSIS, NEUROLOGICAL IMPAIRMENT AT PRESENT AND WE DON'T EXPECT THAT TO DEVELOP BUT THAT IS PART OF HIS ONGOING MONITORING IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT."

The 32-year old actor is best known for his role in the television series Beverly hills 90210.
He's been racing on an off since 1991, but lately he has been concentrating on driving open wheeled cars similar to those used in the Indy Racing League.
They are smaller and not as powerful.
Many drivers say Priestley is a good driver.
The day before the accident Priestley admitted he needed more experience in the car.
