Shep Zedaker (Zed-uh-ker) is one of 20 volunteer firefighters from around the region...who traveled to Medford in Southern Oregon last month to help battle the fires.
Zedaker teaches a firefighting course at Virginia Tech and during his trip, he managed to brush up on his own skills and obtain a fire crew boss certification.... something he says will help him in the classroom later on.
