State and federal emergency workers are searching for the missing people, and setting up shelters for the thousands who were forced to leave their homes.

Officials say tropical fronts and high humidity have caused flooding rains across much of the country.

ISRAEL IS GETTING READY FOR A POSSIBLE U.S. ATTACK ON IRAQ... AND THE LIKLIHOOD THAT SADDAM HUSSEIN WILL STRIKE BACK... AT ISRAEL... AS HE DID DURING THE GULF WAR. SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE BATTERIES ARE BEING DEPLOYED... AND IODINE PILLS... WHICH PROVIDE SOME PROTECTION FROM RADIATION POISONING... ARE BEING PROVIDED ALONG WITH NEW GAS MASK KITS.
THIS WEEK... SOME EMERGENCY HEALTH WORKERS WERE INNOCULATED AGAINST SMALLPOX... JUST IN CASE. THE ISRAELI HEALTH MINISTRY SAYS IT HAS ENOUGH DOSES TO VACCINATE EVERYONE IN ISRAEL.

(SOT IDO HADARI, HEALTH MINISTRY SPOKESMAN)

It's not a secret that the Iraqis might use some bio-terror here in Israel, with a missile or terror -- like a suicide terrorist. We think it would be wise to be prepared for that.
THE DECISION ON WHETHER... AND WHEN... TO DO THAT... HASN'T BEEN MADE YET. A WIDESPREAD VACCINATION CAMPAIGN HAS ITS RISKS. STATISTICALLY... ONE-IN-A-MILLION PEOPLE GETTING THE SHOT WILL DIE. MORE THAN A THOUSAND WOULD GET SERIOUSLY ILL. TO VACCINATE BEFORE... OR ONLY AFTER A POSSIBLE SMALLPOX OUTBREAK... EITHER WAY... IT'S A GAMBLE.

(SOT IDO HADARI, HEALTH MINISTRY SPOKESMAN)

Each option has it's costs and we need to make the best decision we can make upon the intelligence we have which is not so great. We don't have enough facts. We don't even know whether the Iraqis have smallpox or not.
THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT HAS REPEATEDLY WARNED IRAQ THAT IF ATTACKED... IT WON'T SIT ON ITS HANDS... LIKE IT DID A DECADE AGO... AT THE REQUEST OF THE UNITED STATES.
ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER ARIEL SHARON SAYS... IF ISRAEL IS ATTACKED... THERE'S NO QUESTION THAT ISRAEL WILL STRIKE BACK... AND STRIKE BACK HARD. AND IF IRAQ DARES TO USE NUCLEAR, CHEMICAL OR BIOLOGICAL WEAPONS AGAINST ISRAEL... U.S. INTELLIGENCE OFFICIALS SAY ISRAEL MIGHT RETALIATE WITH A NUCLEAR ATTACK ON BAGHDAD.

The judge sentenced the boy to a live-in rehabilitation program that includes school and counseling.
He'll be held in juvenile detention until he can begin the program.
His attorney says the boy wants a new trial because his confession was forced.
He has 10 days to appeal.

The airline says of the 204 cities it serves, only Saginaw, Michigan will lose service.
The airline says one of its U-S Airways Express carriers has decided to drop its run between Saginaw and Pittsburgh.
Otherwise, U-S Airways says its restructuring plan will allow for continued service to all of its other cities.

Zoo officials say they're encouraged by the unusual relationship, which they believe can help save the lives of animals in the future.
