At least seven people are dead, and dozens of others are feared trapped after an explosion rocks a Russian apartment building.

Police say last night's blast in the five- story building was likely caused by a gas leak.
Rescuers worked through the night, using bulldozers and other heavy equipment to remove rubble and pick through the wreckage.
Russian news agencies report that 40 apartments were destroyed.
They also report that among those killed were a mother and her eight-month-old baby.

Several Palestinians are under arrest in connection with last month's deadly bombing at Jerusalem's Hebrew University.
The bombing killed nine people, including five Americans.

It happened when Israeli tanks and helicopters raided a refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army says it destroyed two empty buildings that served as shelters for terrorists.

The agency says the worldwide alert is based on information it's uncovered in the past few days.
Sources say the man's picture was found overseas among those of several hijackers.

More than 100 people have died, and a rain- swollen lake is threatening to flood a city and several villages.
More than two- thousand soldiers are now mobilized to reinforce embankments around the lake.
It's risen more than six feet above the flood- warning mark in the last few days.
Across China, summer floods have already killed more than 900 people.

But the town of Gretna says it is recovering from its water emergency.
After a week of frenzied preparations, the town's reservoir is slowly being replenished.
But that does not mean water restrictions will be lifted anytime soon.

In about a week, town leaders built this containment pond, installed a pump and laid more than two miles of pipe through backyards and under roadways to the town reservoir.. which had shrunk to its lowest level in decades.

Police say "Concourse B" at the airport, which serves international flights, was cleared.
Fire units are de- contaminating affected passengers.
More than 60 people are being treated at the scene for symptoms like scratchy throats, coughing, sneezing, and watery eyes.
