Roanoke Civic Center manager Jim Evans appears to be in serious trouble with the city administration.
But it's unclear tonight just what the problem is.
A spokesman for City Manager Darlene Burcham would only say a personnel action is pending against Evans, but no final decision has been made. He also said Evans at this point is still employed.

Jeff Gordon hasn't won a race in nearly a year, but he would love to change that this weekend in Bristol. Yesterday, Gordon took the first step.

Gordon blistered the track to the tune of 124.03 miles per hour for his 3rd pole position this season. Last night, the Busch cars had the spotlight all to themselves with the running of the Food City 250. And in typical short track fashion, the caution waved seven times. The worst incident of the night came midway thru the race when Larry Gunselman helps trigger this multi-car wreck. Everything just backs up behind him collecting ten cars in all, including that of Stacy Compton.
Jimmy Spencer led 131 of 250 laps and Mister Excitment held off a furious charge from Scott Wimmer on the last lap to win the Food City 250.
