A grand jury must now decide if there is enough evidence to put a Blacksburg man accused of killing his girlfriend on trial.

A preliminary hearing took place yesterday for 26-year-old Michael Parks.
Parks is charged with second-degree murder... for the death of his girlfriend, Marika Cooper.
Cooper was found dead in her Clayton Estates home July 12th.
An investigator told the court Parks voluntarily turned himself into police and that during an interview, said he accidentally choked Cooper to death following a heated argument.

At a hearing yesterday, the defense asked to have their client's mental condition evaluated.
