Prosecutor Neil Vener also pointed out Elizabeth never showed any interest in rushing to her husband's side the morning he was shot.

That's because police believe Elizabeth killed her husband and enlisted two friends to concoct an alibi.
Her motive they say? To cover up her involvement in the murder of Jeffrey Quick.
Frank Farinacci had been a suspect in Quick's disappearance and investigators say he was ready to confess.

Farinacci also made some vague references about two Mexicans who she thinks could have killed Michael and Mary Short and abducted their daughter Jennifer.. and that the same people she's afraid of are from the Henry County area.

Investigators in Henry County say they've looked into claims similar to Farinacci's... but they've found NO evidence of drugs in any of the Short's residences.
As it stands now, there are still no suspects in the kidnapping of Jennifer Short or the murders.
But Sheriff Frank Cassell says he believes his investigators are talking to people who may know something about the crimes.

Deputies are still working around the clock on the case.

Officials say shots were fired around four this morning in the front yard of this home on Newbern Road. The body of 24-year-old Amanda Killen was found by officers. They say it appears she was shot. According to investigators - - Killen's husband Jerry is the person who called for help.

State Health Officials say it appears that two more people may have contracted the West Nile Virus.
This brings the total number of probable HUMAN cases in Virginia to three.
One case involves a 42 year old man from Hanover County. He remains hospitalized in stable condition. The other a 65 year old Fairfax County man. He has already been released from the hospital.
Lab samples have been sent to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to confirm the cases,.

Officer J-W Hicks flipped on his lights and siren, activating a video camera that recorded the chase on tape. It shows Hobson's Camaro crossed the double yellow line four times amid on-coming traffic to get past east-bound vehicles in his way.

The Pulaski man charged with a teenager's drug death earlier this year will NOT face a murder charge .. but the drug distribution charge has been certified to a grand jury.

Police say 32 year old Edward Lee Carter sold cocaine 16 year old Gaelen (GAY-len) Woods, who later died of an overdose. She was an 11th grade student at Pulaski County High School.
After a preliminary hearing today, a judge dismissed the murder count at the Commonwealth's request.

Some Virginia National Guard members have just learned their call-up to active duty will now run at least two years.
