Danville Police are investigating an apparent murder suicide.
It happened around 2:30 this morning on West Stokes Street.
Police say Cornell Elder called 9-1-1 to report he murdered Jessica Thompson.
Upon arrival, officers heard a gunshot and found them both dead in her home ...of gunshot wounds to the head.
Investigators say the two were friends, but no motive has been established so far.

Many convicted felons in Virginia will soon have an easier time regaining their right to vote. Governor Warner announced changes today for non-violent offenders. It reduces their waiting time after completion of sentence to three years from the present five. And the application for voting rights is reduced to one page. There is NO change for offenders convicted of violent or drug-related crimes.
