The 24-year old had been missing since Monday night.
Authorities say they had to head south on Tuesday before returning to their own backyard to find the crime scene.

One, Kenneth Hodges, was taken into custody on an unrelated matter this afternoon.
Hodges lives not far from the crime scene.
And Oakes says that's not the only fact that could tie him to Jackson's murder.

Police say 62-year old Paul McCoy admitted shooting a man who barged into his Aspen Street home on May 17th.
Police say Daryll Wayne Waller threatened McCoy and a woman who was living inside McCoy's house.

He never arrived for military duty and was listed as AWOL.

The Henry County man and his wife were found shot to death in their Oak Level home last month.
Their nine-year old daughter was also taken from the house and remains missing.
This morning-- officials removed Short's body from Henry Memorial Park to gather additional forensic evidence.
His body was then taken to the medical examiners office in Roanoke.
Also today-- helicopters searched the Northern area of Henry County and the southern tip of Franklin County... again looking for additional evidence.

Officials from the University of Wisconsin at Madison had banned the antique musket from the stadium -- telling W-V-U
it would not be allowed at Saturday's football game.
They said it violated the school's "no weapons" policy.
Wisconsin-Madison now reports that it's changed its stance - and welcomes the mascot along with his musket.
Officials have not said what brought the change of heart.
