Tonight we have new information about a criminal charge filed against Sharov and his future with the U-S Army.

Justin McLeod joins us with more on all that.
Shannon, Mikhail Sharov dissapeared twice before here in Southwest Virginia.

The first time he ended up safe and sound at the Ronaoke Regional Airport.
Then the soldier from Blacksburg dissapeared again in January 2001 and was reported as AWOL from the Army.
That was the last we heard of him until yesterday

when he was found inside a self-made bunker near Aberdeen Washington.
That bunker is filled with spy gear, plans for explosive electrical circuits, maps and diagrams of power plants.

Police in Washington call the find disturbing, but say none of the items inside the bunker are actually illegal.

[SUPER=03-Roanoke/August 2000]

They could only charge Sharov with tresspassing.
Today, he appeared in court and pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor count.
Sharov was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 45 days suspended and three-thousand dollars in fines and restitution for damage to the property.
(-------------)
[Live=Justin Full/Pulpit]

But even after Sharov serves that sentence, he won't be out of trouble.
Police say they've contacted the army's AWOL Apprehension Unit.

They intend to pick him up after he's finished serving his time and send him back to Fort Bragg, North Carolina for a possible court martial. Shannon.
