((As the search for Jennifer Short continued, members of her family were in Henry County Circuit court. There a judge moved to appoint Ruby Young, Mary Short's sister, to serve as Jennifer's guardian.
Michael and Mary Short were murdered, and nine year old Jennifer disappeared from their Oak Level home five weeks ago.
Investigators still hope to identify a man who harassed Mary Short in the early 90s when she worked at the Pluma plant... and they have now released earlier photographs that better reflect her appearance at that time.

They've decided they want to renovate the existing Jefferson Forest High School instead of building a new school.. now the question is how will Bedford County pay the bill?

Lynchburg College grad and former head coach at Cave Spring High School, Roger White will help out with the Maroons on the diamond this season. White led the Knights from 1989 to 1997. The Roanoke baseball team will open its second season of play on February 9th.

Ashley Plantation's Chip Sullivan has played his way into the PGA Tour's Michelob Championship at Kingsmill. This afternoon at the Kiskiack (KISS-KEY-ACK) Course in Williamsburg, Chip earned one of two spots in the PGA event by finishing second in a Mid-Atlantic qualifier. He shot a blistering five under par on the final five holes to force a playoff. Then on the fifth hole of the playoff he won with a birdie. The Michelob Championship runs from October 3rd - the 6th.
