We have late word that authorities in Rockingham County, North Carolina, have contacted investigators in Henry County about some human remains.
Those Henry County investigators are checking it out to see if they could be related to the disappearance of Jennifer Short.
They say the remains of a "young person" were found off of Grogan Road near Route 220, about 30 minutes south of the Henry County line.
The remains have not been identified yet.

A one- million dollar grant is expected to improve safety at the Roanoke Regional Airport.

The airport wants to purchase land next to U-P-S to prevent anyone from building on the site.

Ann and Laurence Rogers were rear-ended by a tractor trailer driven by Charles Ray Morrow. He and the trucking company were sued by the Rogers' estate, but Truck Transfer Services filed for bankruptcy protection. Coverage fell to the North Carolina Insurance Guaranty Association. Then the Rogers' uninsured motorist coverage kicked in.
Today a federal judge signed off on a half million dollar settlement. After the lawyers are paid, each of the Rogers four children, Joan, Steven, Scott and Thomas Rogers will get a little more than 80-thousand dollars.
