We have late word that authorities in Rockingham County, North Carolina, have contacted investigators in Henry County about some human remains.
Those Henry County investigators are checking it out to see if they could be related to the disappearance of Jennifer Short. They say the remains of a "young person" were found off of Grogan Road near Route 220, about 30 minutes south of the Henry County line.
The remains have not been identified yet.

A one- million dollar grant is expected to improve safety at the Roanoke Regional Airport.

The grant was awarded by the U-S Department of Transportation and will be used to purchase property adjacent to the airport. The airport wants to purchase land next to U-P-S to prevent anyone from building on the site. An airport spokesperson says the move will make it safer for planes to land-- because a building could interfere with information being relayed between the pilot and the control tower as the plane attempts to land.

Then the Rogers' uninsured motorist coverage kicked in. Today a federal judge signed off on a half million dollar settlement. Authorities say a dog found the remains of a "young person" earlier today about 15 minutes south of the Henry County line.
